In the prologue, riders will set off from the Plaza de les Fontetes towards Arinsal and turn right at the third roundabout to tackle the first 800-metre climb, thus starting the linking path to the first descent that will take them to Ordino, where they will continue along the Cami Ral, which will end in a stretch of asphalt on arrival at the village of Llorts. Here, after a 180 turn, the riders will return along the Ruta del Ferro, following its tracks, enjoying the changes of pace, passing along its wooden footbridges and discovering a magical environment.
Back in Ordino the riders will ride through the streets to join the Cami Ral and make the third ascent to the Aldosa where they will start a trail until the last ascent, the last effort before reaching the finish line and completing the prologue.
Starting stage 1, riders will leave La Massana (Fontetes Square) towards Pal before reaching the first climb of 800 metres. This is a climb section combining tarmac, path and tracks in the Vallnord bike park, before reaching the first aid station at Pla de la Cot. From here riders continue climbing for approximately 900 metres to take a path leading to the Collada de Muntaner from which they will descend until the crossroads where the second climb of the stage begins. Riders will climb until reaching the Smuggler’s Pass upon which they will need to cross a 300-metre section on foot before re-joining the dual-track to the second aid station at Coll de la Botella. From there riders will take a path to Pal Station and enjoy a 1000 metre flow trail through the bike park to La Massana to complete stage 1.
Canillo to La Massana
Stage 2 gets underway from Canillo towards Vall de Incles and then towards Grau Roig station. From there riders will reach the Pessons Lake where the first aid station will be located, before hitting the slopes on single-track to the Mont Màgic area reaching the second aid station. Riders will continue until the town of Canillo, until reaching the final climb to Coll d’Ordino through sections of road, single-track and defined trails. The third and final aid station will be in Coll d’Ordino, from there the route goes down to La Massana following single-track and trail sections, reaching the bike park to complete stage 2.
Naturlandia to La Massana
The stage starts from Naturland Park at an altitude of 1600 metres with riders moving along a mountain road for 4km before reaching the first climb. From here riders take another section of mountain road for 2km entering the Nordic ski slopes of Naturland, passing through the Pla de Conangle, reaching the first aid station at the park’s exit. The route then continues along the Nordic ski slopes, mixed with some single-track until the highest point of the stage is reached at 2240 metres where riders will cross a Spanish Civil War bunker. This leads to a long and spectacular descent of which most will be a fun, flowing trail until the town of Sant Julià de Lòria. Here riders will find the second aid station. From there the course combines sections of trail with sections of road until reaching a beautiful path along the Valira River, where Romanesque bridges and wooden walkways cross, before arriving at the finish in the bike park area of La Massana to complete stage 3.
